This month for my In Touch With Nature post I have considered the poaching of southern white rhinos. This post does not include any graphic details but is more a discussion about the reasons for the rapid decline in the white rhino population and steps being taken to resolve this crisis.
Thanks for hosting, Kaye Lynne Booth.
Thanks for this article, Rhino Lives Matter 💯 Am from a country where Rhino poaching is illegal but still happens. God bless South Africa though🙏🏾🇿🇦

Hi, Robbie.
What purpose does the horn serve to the Ryno?

Excellent post, Robbie. Much of humankind’s cruelty to animals is heartbreaking. (One reason why I’m vegan.)

HI Martina, thank you. I like to share about our wonderful wildlife. Some humans are unbelievable in their destructive behaviour, but there are also those who devote their lives to saving our animals.

Rhinos are magnificent creatures, Robbie. It’s good that steps are taken to protect them from poaching.

This made me think in a way of the Apple TV series The Wild Ones, in which three wildlife photographers go in search of critically endangered species and take part in trying to help keep them alive with their work. One episode was on rhinos (on the island of Java).

Hi Resa, it is sad. Many African government officials are also corrupt which increased the problem hugely.
