Twilight elephant in oil pastels

Twighlight

Sun leisurely sinks

Below the dark horizon

Rule of night begins

Encircling black silhouettes

Punctured by bright, glowing eyes

Mother and baby giraffe in charcoal
Mysterious: Silhouette of a young woman with long hair in charcoal
Wild hoopoe in charcoal

    1. Hi Terri, thank you for your lovely comment. I hadn’t thought really of sharing my art at a gallery. I am putting some of them, including ‘giraffy’, into my new children’s book. This new series is aimed at teaching children about wildlife and conservation. It is intended to be realistic and not personify animals with human characteristics.

  1. Beautiful! I Loved that face—– Tell your husband that I should wish him luck for this evening. But—-I need all of it, and loads more. I have none to spare.

  2. Dang, girl!! Your talent with drawing continues to blow me away. “Mysterious” is especially stunning, and I have often wondered what a hoopoe looks like. Now I know 🙂

I also really loved the poem, and had to read it a few times, just to soak up the images it evoked!
