My husband and I have been away in the bush viewing animals. It was wonderful and we saw so many amazing animals. I love the way elephants look out for each other and their young. Here are a few pictures:

Hi da-AL, there is an abundance of African elephant in Southern Africa currently. It is rather a problem as they need so much food and do a lot of damage to the environment by uprooting the trees. The parks needs more land to accommodate them.

I love this! Robbie, you must check out the children’s book, Grandma Elephant’s In Charge by Martin Jenkins. The story is interspersed with elephant facts. It is my #1 elephant book to read to children. I bet you will learn something, too. Plus, the illustrations are wonderful.

Hi Wayne, the brownish reddish ones are covered in mud. The ground in red as you can see in these pictures. The spray the earth on themselves as protection from the sun and also from ticks.
