Hope is everywhere
Within each unfurling bud
In the sun’s hot rays
And winter’s bitterest chill
Morning always dawns

We do, especially at the moment. We can find it in unexpected places if we keep our eyes open.

If I had three thumbs, they’d be up for your inspiring poem, Robbie! The photo of the flower is a treat for the eyes on this wintry Canadian day.

I am glad this poem perked you up, Mark. We have been hugely blessed with flowers this year. The heavy rain has turned my garden into a tropical jungle full of flowers and vines. It is a marvel.

Hi Bella, I am really pleased you like this poem. The flower is a magnolia. We’ve had an abundance of these this year with all the rain.

Lovely. Wishing you and yours a healthful, healing and hopeful New Year.
I didn’t write yet to this post. Though the my last two segments for my story (not yet up) ~ the second ends on a note of hope. I’m going to try and write an unrelated (to my story piece) but I’m waiting until Jan 1.

Lovely, Robbie. Why do you like prose poetry? Inquiring minds (me) wants to know. LOL! ❤

Oh bother, I was supposed to include a paragraph saying that I like writing tanka poetry because it is just the right length to express one complex thought. I like this style of poetry because it is powerful and punchy. You know, I actually thought I had written this in my post. I think my brain is turning to slush with all the holiday celebrating.
