I am delighted to have two short stories in Spirits of the West paranormal anthology with a Western flavour. My short stories are about the South African frontier rather than the American frontier but they are based on true historical events which I have fictionalised with a paranormal twist.
This is the second WordCrafter paranormal anthology compiled and edited by Kaye Lynne Booth.

Spirits of the west are often found in unexpected places. They can be found on a in a saloon in Colorado territory, on a wagon train in the plains of South Africa, or on a distant planet in another galaxy They can be the bringers of revenge or the protectors of the weak. Indulge yourself in eight unique paranormal stories with western spirit in Spirits of the West.

Thank you, Darlene. I like anthologies. I just write my stories, edit them, of course, and then hand them over. It is quite a lazy way of being part of a book and that is nice for a change.

HI John, thank you, I am learning about the Wild West through reading about it. It is amazing how many parallels there are to South African pioneering history.

It was “wild” indeed! Would love to read more about SA history in that regard as well!

Thank you, Jacquie. This one includes mainly Western stories. There is one sci-fi take which I enjoyed and mine are about the Great Trek in South Africa in 1836. It is interesting how similar American and South African pioneering history is.

I haven’t heard of the Great Trek. I need to check that out.

South African history isn’t as well know as USA history. This is when the Dutch/Afrikaans people ventured into the interior of South Africa by wagon train to escape British rule.

Thank you, Jessica. I like writing short stories, it feels very relaxed compared to writing a novel. I just got A Ghost and His Gold back with my publishers comments. Busy days ahead.

I like participating in anthologies, Carol. It feels a bit like getting a free ride as the compiler puts them together and sorts out Amazon. All I have to do is write my stories and I often help with some of the editing which is something I enjoy doing.

Thanks Mae, not as much as Craig, that man is a writing machine. I have started your new anthology and read the first story about Abraham Lincoln. It was fascinating. I didn’t know any of that history.
