Spring

buds blooming, birds constructing, hadeda ahead – brooding

bright birds, colourful flowers, creating, spring kaleidoscope

shredded petals, beheaded flowers, weaver – most destructive!

  5. Love your Sijo Robbie, the beautiful kaleidoscope of colour, petals destroyed by the Weaver bird – the irony of creation! I had to look up the Weaver bird as I hadn’t heard of them, how beautiful and such intricate nests…. 💞

  9. Lucky you Robbie heading into spring my favourite season. I love the sudden, chaotic shift from the vibrant beginning of spring to the messy realities of wildlife – great sijo 🙌

  13. What a wonderful Sijo! Contrast between the bright kaleidoscope of spring blooms and the cheeky, destructive weaver bird shredding petals is such a clever touch. I completely agree with brazannemuse on the beauty and irony of creation, and like poetisatinta noted, capturing that shift into messy wildlife reality makes the poem so vivid!
