Waiting with you
I’ll be with you
When the artificial sleep comes
My mind will be with you
During your time in theatre
I’ll be waiting for you
When you open your eyes
I wish I could take your place
I can’t
But I’ll wait with you
Michael is having another small procedure on Monday, 2 December.

Few words needed, sums it up perfectly. Our first baby had a hernia operation when he was only a couple of months old and I was staying on the ward with him and got him ready. That was along wait, the anaesthetic for a tiny baby more worrying than the actual procedure, all went well and after that scary start to parenthood all went smoothly. We have been very lucky with our three. Best wishes for Michael.
His pictures are brilliant, is charcoal one of his favourite medias?

Hi Janet, surgery for a small baby is terrifying. Michael was also in hospital at 3 weeks and again at 4 months. Traumatic memories. Hugs. Yes, Michael loves charcoal although his latest picture which I haven’t shared yet, is graphite. He likes B&W and I love colour. Interesting!

Angels and my prayers will be with you ALL when Michael has his procedure! That top charcoal drawing of his is wicked spectacular… not that I am not enthralled with the portrait of the woman, but holy smokes! Your poetic lead in was moving…

I hope all goes well with Michael’s procedure, and that he heals quickly afterward. On another note: His drawings are finely done. The first one is arresting, with the blend of a person and skeleton. Creatively done!
