I had the splendid good fortune to see a rare brown hyena during our recent trip to Madikwe. Seeing a brown hyena has been on my bucket list for years so I was beyond excited. I got some good shots, although they were at a distance because brown hyenas are very shy and solitary. I am sharing about them today so you can share my joy.
The brown hyena looks like a lovely dog. It changed my view of the mean grey hyena. Thank you for sharing, Robbie! I use my phone and I couldn’t comment on a link to another site.

Hi Miriam, Disney damaged the reputation of spotted hyenas with the movie Lion King. I think hyenas (all of them) are magnificent creatures.

You’re right, Robbie. All animals in the wild are precious and have a purpose of existence. I wish to visit the safari in Africa. My sister and her new husband took a trip to Africa last year.

I’m looking forward to see what unlikely animal or object you’ll eulogize next; now there’s a challenge — for me too 🙂

I am always delighted by what I see so the guides don’t feel a need to keep looking for lions. I like all the creatures and birds.

HI John, I am a fan of hyenas. They are so much more interesting than lions. I also enjoy cheetahs very much.

What a beautiful animal. What a shame that the Lion King has ruined the reputation of this animal.
