Cee’s photograph challenge this week is a picture that makes you laugh or smile.
We had heavy rain yesterday for the first time this year. The ducks who live on the dam looked bedraggled and bewildered by all the water. This picture made me laugh and I wrote a poem to go with it:

“What’s all this water about?” Donald asks Huey
“I’ve absolutely no clue. The sky is crying.”
“We need to warm our wet feet. Let’s try the left side.”
“All right, Boys. Eyes to the front. Ready, steady, go!
That is so cute. The photo and the poem. We could use a good rain here as well.

It rained all day yesterday which was very blissful except that my company decided to do its one and only fire drill of the year. We had to stand outside in the rain for 30 minutes and all my carefully straightened hair went curly.

Ha! Darling. Do birds cry? Hmm…

Hi Jacqui, the technical answer is that birds do have tears. It is part of the eyes way of working and staying clean. They don’t cry from sadness, they express distress differently.

Thank you for that. Tear ducts came early in evolution…

So what were their names? They seem pretty self-important that they can’t bear to get their feet wet! 🙂 Very clever, Robbie! 🙂

Thank you, Marsha. The ducks names are Scrooge McDuck, Hortense McDuck, Quackmore McDuck, Delia Duck, Donald Duck, Huey, Louie and Dewey Duck, and Daisy Duck. Do you recognise any of them? Haha!
