I am still away but we are now in a place that has better signal and wifi so I am able to write a post and read a few too. I didn’t want to miss Cee’s Back of one any item challenge and as I only have my work computer, I had to chose pictures from the current trip. I found a few good ones of animals from the back.

Celtic tree astrology poems
Colleen’s challenge this week is to write a poem about your tree in Celtic tree astrology. I am an Ash, and so is my oldest son, Gregory. I wrote a poem for each of us. You can join in Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday challenge here: https://wordcraftpoetry.com/2023/07/04/tankatuesday-weekly-poetry-challenge-no-327-7-4-2023/
ASH – THE ENCHANTER
FEBRUARY 18 – MARCH 17
Ash signs are free thinkers. They are imaginative, intuitive, and naturally artistic. This sign has a tendency to be moody and withdrawn at times, but that’s only because your inner landscape is in constant motion. You are in touch with your muse and are easily inspired by nature. Likewise, you inspire all that you associate with and people seek you out for your enchanting personality. You have a strong interest in art, writing (especially poetry), science, and theology (spiritual matters). You are in a constant state of self-renewal and rarely place value on what others think of you. Ash signs partner well with Willow and Reed signs.
Word Weaver – for Robbie
Ideas form
As technicoloured gossamer threads
I weave them
Into floral word patterns
Designed to enchant
Technological Wizard – for Greg
His brain works
With computer code
Designing
Processing
Technological wizard
Creating magic
Some great back end views! I love the poems as well.

Hi Colleen, it has been wonderful. I was a little worried about Terence doing so much driving as he hadn’t driven for six months but he’s been fine and we’d seen amazing creatures and sunsets.

Enjoying the snow?

Thank you, Wayne. It didn’t snow in St Lucia so I think we’ve missed it 😞. I always miss the snow in Joburg and it’s only happened three times in my life time.

Hi Wayne, we are home but the elusive snow is long gone. It’s still quite cold by our standards though.

Hi, Robbie – I seldom think of photographing back views. These are fabulous. I hope your time away is going wonderfully!

Hi Donna, I only photograph animals from the back if I can see the faces. Sometimes the move and then it is a completely backside shot. Our trip has been lovely. Thank you.

I too am an ash. Ash wood is supposed to protect you from drowning since Feb-March were typically the months with heaviest rain and flooding. This is very old Celtic mythology, but if you were an English major in college, you probably bumped into this stuff if you were forced to read James Joyce or anything by Robert Graves.

Hi Marilyn, Robert Graves is on my reading list. I did not know about this tree mythology so it was most interesting to me. You suit Ash perfectly 😊

Just as well. Ash is probably, other than oak, the most common tree in this part of the world.

Thank you, Clive. It’s been cold but the sighting are great. It is better to view animals during the winter when the foliage is not as dense.

They do look great. And I guess the absence of foliage helps you to see the wild ones better if they are coming after you 🤣

The photos are amazing as always and the back end views a cool concept.
Both poems are wonderful, each speaking of creativity in different ways.
