Other than my scheduled Dark Origins post, this is my last post for 2022. I have shared my gingerbread bakery project called The Great Mince Pie Escape and one of my Covid projects: Young Mother Hubbard survives lockdown and home schooling.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and the very best for 2023.

  1. These are wonderful, Robbie. I was at Old Sturbridge Village last night, and in one of the houses, two women were baking mince pie cookies in a tin oven next to an open hearth. Looking at your first creation, I can imagine them absconding with a batch of cookies and heading out for a well-deserved break. Thanks for making me smile.

I hope yo have a wonderful time on holiday with your family and that you all have a safe, healthy and delightful Christmas and New Year.

    1. Thank you, Liz. We’ve cancelled our trip to the UK because of the strikes (NHS, Rail, Post, and in the airports), weather, and sickness. It’s not worth taking chances with my mom and Michael’s health and being stuck for hours in airports is not fun at all.

  2. Your fondant work is really lovely, Robbie. I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and I sincerely hope that 2023 is a better year especially for Michael as I know how much he has had to endure this last Hugs xx

    1. HI Carol, thank you, lets hope 2023 is better for both our families. We cancelled our trip to the UK this Christmas because of all the strikes and the issues with the NHS. It is to risky for me to take my mom and Michael to a place where you can’t get proper medical care. That seems so strange, doesn’t it? We can go from Africa to the UK because there is no medical care in the UK right now – it’s like something out of a Stephen King novel. I hope your family members are getting the care and treatments they need amid the turmoil.

      1. Thank you, Robbie I’m afraid this is not the case my sister is still waiting and my cousin in the US has now been diagnosed with cancer it just keeps coming-sigh -but her treatment seems to be on course…I don’t blame you for canc cancelling your UK trip at the moment the NHS seems to be on its belly such a shame x
