This week, Dan has asked us to share our favourite doors for the year. I am using poetic license and sharing my favourite Christmas doors ever.

These pictures are from our trip to the UK for Christmas 2009. It is the only white Christmas I’ve every experienced.

  2. Love sharing this Christmas castle experience! It is really cool that you were able to capture the snowfall on film. You are also sharing one of my favorite Christmas songs. Truth be told, I enjoy this song so much that I will listen to it anytime during the year.

  6. There are no castles in my part of the world, but I love seeing and visiting them when I can. Thank you for this beautiful journey, Robbie. I especially love the photo of you and your son. How precious. 💕

    1. HI Gwen, thank you, I also love that picture. Greg is still such a honey. We have one castle in South Africa in Cape Town. It was built by the Dutch East India Company when the Dutch decided to establish a refreshment station in Cape Town.

    1. Yes, I wrote a story about it, Jim, as yet unpublished. We went to EuroDisney and were on the last Eurostar train to get through the tunnel before the one that broke down that year. Michael literally jumped off the bus at the hotel, and straight into a snow drift. He got such a shock at how cold and wet it was. Such fun memories.

  23. Wonderful impressions, Robbie! Thanks for sharing, these wonderful photos. I cant think on Christmas without snow, but here we are missing such wonderful castles. Have a beautiful Christmas time. You are so right with Sue. What a lost. I am sure she is furthermore with us. xx Michael

    1. Hi Michael, you are right about Sue, but I still miss her in my ‘now’. It depends what you are used to, I grew up with hot Christmases and swimming in the pool on Christmas day so a white Christmas is very novel for me.

  25. I remember seeing some of these photos, Robbie, and especially love the one with you and Greg. I just forgot that it was your white Christmas. I’ve seen snow but not too many white Christmas. Do you celebrate Christmas this time of the year? But many bloggers take some time off from Christmas, so probably it’s a great time for you to be with you family. I read your poetry post at Kaye’s. Wonderful. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and a blessed New Year 2022.

    1. HI Miriam, we have Christmas on 25th of January as our roots are British. Most people celebrate on that day and on another day too if that is their tradition. You will have seen some of these pictures when I posted about Leeds Castle before. This time I included all the Disney pictures. What a lovely tour.

      1. Hi Robbie, I know some countries celebrate Christmas on a date other than December 25th. Even though it’s a common date for Christmas, extensive research shows that this might not be the exact date of the birth of Jesus.
        It was a lovely tour. I’m glad to see more pictures of your Leeds Castle trip.

      1. My last experience of snow was the winter of 2009-10. Driving conditions were dreadful. It took me 4 hours to get to work and 7 hours to get back one day in late December. That’s what made up my mind to come out here!
