Elephants are so different than many think.

Hi Jacqui, people tend to think that animals have no strong family ties and emotions. This is not true at all. I’ve seen monkey mothers mourn their dead babies for months. It is very sad.

I read about that in Jane Goodell’s books. She really humanized chimpanzees. I have never thought of them as ‘beasts’ since (or any of the Great Apes, or monkeys for that matter).
