Thank you, Tim. It’s been crazy finishing work to go away (for one day!). I will get my review of your splendid book done next week. I really enjoyed it.
HI DArlene, what a mad last day at work. I’m only missing one work day but you’d think I was going forever. Thank you for your comment. I hope we will have good sightings. You never know.
I remember reading about the differences between the two species of elephants, including how the African elephant has a dip in its back, and that it has two “fingers” on its trunk while the Asian only has one.
Fascinating information, Robbie! I was especially taken by the fact that African elephants’ ears are shaped like the continent they live on!

Thank you for your lovely compliment, Tim. You have plenty of talent yourself to be able to construct a story like Valley Walker.

HI Andrew, yes those are additional differences. The ears and size are the most easy to see from a distance.

I remember learning this–because I had to for my books. I had them described all wrong at first!

Oh, how very interesting. Did you describe Asian elephants initially?

The zoos here house mostly Asian elephants. I donβt think Iβve actually seen an African elephant – at least in person.

That is interesting. Perhaps we guard ours more closely and don’t sell them to zoos. Wildlife conservation is very big here.
