This week’s W3 Prompt #77 challenge is to write a dormasha – three variations on a shadorma syllabic format. You can join in here: https://skepticskaddish.com/2023/10/18/w3-prompt-77-weave-written-weekly/.
This is what came; thank you muse! My verses go 5/3/7/3/3/5 then 3/7/5/3/3/5 and 3/5/3/3/7/5.
Dad
A great role model
Is my dad
He taught me composition
And about
Proportion
Skills I use daily
***
Even now
He’s older and in poor health
He adds great value
To my life
Supportive
And encouraging

Spring planting
Decorative trees
Adorning
The pavement
His enthusiasm grows
As project takes shape

What a lovely poem and tribute to your dad, Robbie. Love the photos, too.

Thank you, Jan. My dad is very artistic. He gives me good advice. I remember him helping me to create sculptures when I was a girl and he bought me the best art gifts.

Thank you, Lesley. My dad chose the trees and did that crisscross design with the flowers you can see if you look carefully. It will be more apparent when the flowers grow a bit.

Hi Frank, it’s great to see you. Thank you and, yes, all is as well as it can be. My dad had a pulmonary embolism in 2021 and has been frail ever since.

Thanks, Kerfe, its not always easy with both of them aging and suffering pain and poor health some (or a lot) of the time, but I’m glad to have them.

Hi Merril, thank you very much. My dad is not very strong these days so its great to see him so interested and enthusiastic about this project. The loss of a parent is huge – hugs.

You’re welcome, Robbie. I’m sorry your dad is frail now, but I’m glad he’s involved in this project.
My dad died over 20 years ago. It’s a shame he didn’t get to see my kids grow up. But I’m glad my mom lived so long and got to go to their weddings.
