#Thursdaydoors – 1 October

Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in on the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing your link in the comments below, anytime between Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time).

We spent last weekend at a lovely resort in the Drakensburg mountains in South Africa. My husband was very keen on seeing the mountain from a helicopter. I wasn’t as keen as I tend to get airsick but I went and it was manageable. The views were amazing. This week, I thought I would share pictures of the doors of the helicopter.

Here are a few pictures taken through the windows and doors of the helicopter.

  1. Hi Robbie, The doors lead to an adventure much more so than most doors. We took a helicopter ride in Maui and the woman in the back cried and wanted to go back the entire time. Your pictures show a rugged mountain range and I though ours looked spikey. The mountain peak in the Sierra Nevada Range nearest to us is Sawtooth. It looks so deserted from the helicopter. There are paths, but no discernable towns, from that height anyway.

  2. I got a ride in a helicopter once… I was participating as a victim of a plane crash and got air lifted to the local hospital. I was supposed to be unconscious. But once in the chopper, the crew said I could sit up and look around 😉

I think I might like a hot air balloon ride… but that hasn’t happened yet. I know one has to dress warm and in layers as it’s cold way up there!
